Fenbendazole

Fenbendazole is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic medicine belonging to the benzimidazole class. It is primarily used in veterinary medicine to treat gastrointestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and certain tapeworms in animals like dogs, cats, cattle, and horses. Fenbendazole works by disrupting the parasite’s ability to absorb glucose, leading to energy depletion and eventual death of the worms. In recent years, it has also gained attention for potential off-label uses in humans, though such applications require more scientific research and medical guidance. It is considered safe, effective, and is available in various formulations like tablets, granules, and suspensions.
